Miso and Sage Martini-ish
This week’s I wanted to start off with something a bit unusual - creating a cocktail from a savoury dish. I love miso butter, and often have it on toast as a snack. As of late I put sage on everything, and realised I love miso and sage together. Sounds weird but trust me. So here is a spin on that as a drink, shown here in one of my Studio Walsh glassware pieces. Let me know what you think!
INGREDIENTS
- 2oz vodka
- 1/2 oz white vermouth
- 1 teaspoon white miso paste
- Maple syrup
- 3 sage leaves + 1 to garnish
METHOD
- In a cup/small bowl, mix half a teaspoon of miso paste with 1/2 oz white vermouth until dissolved.
- In another cup/small bowl, muddle 2-3 sage leaves with a 1-2 teaspoons of maple syrup (start with less and add more to taste before serving if needed)
- Grab a cocktail shaker, and add the miso vermouth mix, 2oz vodka + the maple syrup/sage mix
- Shake with ice and strain.
- Serve straight up or over a large ice cube
